Barb Allen

Retired President, Proactive Partners

Barb Allen is on the Board of RLI Corporation, a specialty commercial insurance company and serves on the compensation and strategy committees. In addition, Ms. Allen has served on the Board of Maytag (appliance manufacturer), Tyson (chicken and beef), Converse (athletic shoes), Charthouse (restaurants), Lance (snack foods) and Coty (fragrances) where she served on the audit and compensation committees for each of these companies.

Barb recently retired as president of Proactive Partners, a corporate wellness and fitness program management organization. She spent a substantial part of her career with Quaker Oats where she was Executive Vice President of the International Foods. Barb was also a partner with The Everest Group, a growth strategy consulting firm, President of Corporate Supplier Solutions at Corporate Express, a business-to-business office supply company, and CEO of Women’s United Soccer Association, where she directed the launch of the women’s professional soccer league.
 



Alice Richter
Retired Partner, KPMG


Ms. Richter was a certified public accountant with KPMG LLP for 26 years until her retirement in June 2001. She joined KPMG's Minneapolis office in 1975 and was admitted to its partnership in 1987. During her tenure at KPMG, Ms. Richter spent three years in KPMG’s Germany practice, served as the National Industry Director of the U.S. Food and Beverage practice and also served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the KPMG Foundation from 1991 to 2001. Based on this vast experience in finance and accounting, Ms. Richter has been selected to serve on the board of directors of several public and privately held companies.

Ms. Richter currently serves on the boards of directors of two publicly traded companies, G & K Services, Inc (GKSR) and West Marine, Inc. (WMAR), one privately owned company, Fingerhut Direct Marketing, Inc. and one Fraternal Benefit Society, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. She is a member of the audit committee (the Chair of the audit committee of G & K Sevices, West Marine, and Fingerhut) and financial expert of each, and also serves on the Technology Committee of Thrivent.

Ms. Richter graduated summa cum laude from Moorhead State University, was the first recipient of the School of Business Outstanding Alumni Award, and was initiated as an honorary member of the Golden Key National Honor Society by the University of Minnesota chapter.
